Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Eliminate Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The strikes follow evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with attacks already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
